Automated Reel Handling
in SMT Manufacturing
SMD reels are used in large quantities, so individual automated reel handling only takes place in the inbound area, storage, feeder setup area and on placement machines. Transport is carried out in batches or picking lists in the reel container, which holds up to 60 reels and is loaded and unloaded at loading and unloading stations. The M-Station-Reel transports individual reels between modules such as the loading station, component counter, storage system and unloading station. Standard modules can be combined individually to make optimal use of space.

Flexible Container Feed for Every Need
The container can be fed manually by an operator, by trolley or by an autonomous mobile robot. Several applications are available, which can be selected depending on the specific application in the project. This ensures optimal integration into the production process, regardless of the individual requirements and circumstances.


Flexible Segmentation with the M-Station-Reel
The M-Station-Reel is divided into 1, 2 or 3 independent segments. The transfer and takeover process can be carried out manually by an operator or via the HERMES interface. The modular concept allows the system to be expanded depending on the number of positions required.
