In addition to large-scale production capacities in Asia, European and German manufacturing technology continues to play an important role in the development of modern production processes. ASYS supplies production systems for various solar cell technologies and supports manufacturers in implementing highly automated production lines.
Automation refers to the use of machines, software, and intelligent systems to support or take over production processes. The goal is to improve throughput, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Modern automation solutions reduce the need for manual intervention, increase process stability, and lay the foundation for scalable production capacity.
In addition to solar and fuel cell technologies, battery technology is an important component of the ASYS Energy portfolio. ASYS develops automation solutions for high-performance, future-proof manufacturing processes, thereby supporting key technologies for the storage of renewable energy.
ASYS production solutions are designed for current and future solar cell technologies. These include, among others, TOPCon, SHJ (silicon heterojunction), IBC (interdigitated back contact), and future perovskite-silicon tandem cells. Thanks to the technology-independent and modular design, different cell architectures can be supported within the same manufacturing environment.
ASYS’s production solutions were developed to meet the demands of modern high-volume manufacturing. They enable high throughput, integrate processes such as printing, drying, testing, and sorting into a continuous production line, and support efficient solar cell manufacturing on a gigawatt scale. At the same time, intelligent automation concepts help reduce operational effort, downtime, energy consumption, and space requirements.
ASYS offers turnkey solutions for the manufacture of PEM and SOFC/SOEC fuel cells. The portfolio includes, among other things, screen printing, laser marking, laser processing, welding processes, coating technologies, inline inspection, testing processes, material logistics, and automated stacking and assembly processes. This enables manufacturers to scale their production from start-up to highly automated mass production.
