Assembly Automation
for Industrial Goods
High product variant diversity, ever‑increasing quality requirements, and growing cost pressure are creating significant challenges for industrial manufacturing environments. Our custom‑engineered assembly automation solutions enable complex production processes to be implemented efficiently, safely, and economically. This makes series production of industrial goods – such as switchgear, water pumps, or sensor systems – highly efficient, repeatable, and scalable.
Our automated assembly systems combine mechanical precision, intelligent control technology, and integrated quality assurance. The result: reduced error rates, shorter cycle times, and consistently stable product quality – from pre‑series production through high‑volume manufacturing.

Fast Product Changeovers Thanks to the ASYS Cell‑Based Architecture
Thanks to the ASYS cell‑based architecture, product changeovers can be implemented quickly and efficiently. New variants or functions are realized simply by adding or replacing individual cells. Each production cell operates autonomously and can be flexibly retooled, expanded, or recombined as needed.

Operator Guidance with SynapticaOS
The ASYS software platform SynapticaOS further accelerates the product changeover process: adjustments can be made on the fly, as the cells reconfigure themselves automatically. In addition, the system supports centralized product management, allowing parameters to be managed globally across multiple production lines operating in parallel.
Centralized user management enables role‑specific configuration of operator permissions and functions. Smart Alerts deliver targeted information and tasks based on employee role and skill level, optimally supporting operators and further increasing overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) in production.
ASYS FAQ
Industrial Goods
Industrial automation refers to the use of automated assembly, testing, and handling systems for the cost-effective manufacture of products. The goal is to improve quality, productivity, and process reliability by automating repetitive production steps. Unlike pure process control technology, the focus is on the automated manufacturing, assembly, and testing of components and assemblies.
Automated assembly systems are manufacturing systems that perform assembly, inspection, and handling processes largely autonomously. INVENTUS assembly automation is based on standardized functional elements and modular manufacturing cells, which can be configured as semi-automatic systems, individual cells, or fully interlinked production lines, depending on the application.
Using the INVENTUS modular system, ASYS develops custom assembly automation solutions for a wide variety of industrial goods. The systems are used, for example, in sensors, switching devices, and water pumps, and can be flexibly adapted to different batch sizes, product variants, and process requirements—from pre-series production to high-volume production.
The INVENTUS modular system serves as the foundation for ASYS assembly automation. Standardized functional components and a flexible cell design enable rapid project implementation, easy expansion, and adaptation to new product variants. This allows automation solutions to be developed efficiently and adapted to changing requirements over the long term.
Assembly automation is suitable for pre-production runs and small batch sizes as well as for high-volume production. Companies benefit from automated solutions, particularly when dealing with a wide variety of product variants, as product changeovers can be implemented more quickly and processes can be ensured to be reproducible.
The INVENTUS modular system supports a wide range of assembly and manufacturing processes. These include, among others, screwing, press-fit, welding, bonding, dispensing, cleaning, marking, printing, and various testing and verification methods. The individual process modules can be flexibly combined with one another.
The INVENTUS platform is suitable for a wide variety of industrial goods and applications. Examples include sensor products featuring ACF bonding and laser depaneling, switch devices involving press-fit and potting processes, and fluid pumps involving resistance welding, plasma cleaning, bonding, and functional testing.
The SynapticaOS software platform supports the planning, control, and optimization of automated assembly processes. Features such as centralized product management, automatic cell changeovers, role-based operator guidance, smart alerts, and seamless data availability help accelerate product changeovers and sustainably increase system productivity.
