Janitza Expands Manufacturing Capacity: New SMD Line for the Factory of the Future
Janitza electronics GmbH is consistently continuing its successful growth trajectory and is investing in the further development of its electronics manufacturing with an additional SMD line featuring handling modules and an INSIGNUM system from the ASYS Group. With this expansion, the company is not only strengthening its production capacity but also laying the groundwork for even greater flexibility, efficiency, and future-proofing.
An important step in this process was the pre-acceptance testing of the new production line at the ASYS Group’s facility in Dornstadt. On site, the Janitza project team was able to personally verify the system’s performance and coordinate the final steps leading up to commissioning with ASYS experts. The successful pre-acceptance testing marked another important milestone on the path to starting production.
The new SMD line is part of a comprehensive investment project to expand manufacturing capacity at the Lahnau site. The solution implemented by the ASYS Group combines modern automation and handling technologies with high-performance manufacturing processes, thereby laying the foundation for future-proof electronics production. The scope of delivery includes the following handling modules:
- VEGO GenS Pro AES03Speed-2M
- zwei VEGO GenS Pro FPS30-600L
- VEGO GenS Pro AMS03Speed-3M.
The line is complemented by the INSIGNUM 4000 with a CO₂ laser for efficient and precise PCB marking.
Investing in the Factory of the Future
This growth trajectory is particularly evident in the new Janitza “Factory of the Future.” Additional production and office space is being built on more than 4,500 square meters—the largest investment in Janitza’s corporate history.
Just in time for the company’s 40th anniversary, the “Factory of the Future” opened its doors for the first time to employees, customers, and partners. Visitors gained insights into modern manufacturing technologies, future production processes, and the company’s strategic development.
The ASYS Group’s new SMD line will be a central component of the future manufacturing landscape. It will help Janitza expand its production capacity in a targeted manner while simultaneously meeting high standards for quality, efficiency, and flexibility.
