XH6 – Next Generation Screen Printing Solution

The next‑generation ASYS screen printing solution is designed to meet the increasing demands of ultra‑fine line metallization and high‑throughput solar cell production. By integrating multiple process steps into a single platform, the system combines patented parallel alignment procedures with vacuum‑based transport. This enables precise cell‑to‑cell positioning, minimized process variation, and stable, industrial‑scale performance for advanced solar cell technologies.

  • Incoming solar cells are loaded into a defined cell matrix and aligned using ASYS’ patented parallel alignment procedure. Cell positions are measured with high precision, while offsets between the cell matrix and the vacuum gripper are detected in parallel. This approach ensures fast alignment cycles, reduced cycle time, and accurate initial positioning as the foundation for ultra‑fine line printing.

  • The aligned cell matrix is transferred using an in‑vacuum transport system that maintains precise cell‑to‑cell alignment throughout the process. During transport, offsets between the vacuum gripper and the vacuum band are measured and compensated.
    This ensures positional stability with an accuracy of 2–4 μm, eliminating cumulative alignment errors and preserving matrix integrity at high throughput.

  • Before screen printing, the system measures the offset between the vacuum band and the screen. All detected offsets from previous steps are corrected within a single alignment procedure, enabling precise registration between cells and the printing screen. This integrated correction concept ensures consistent fine‑line printing accuracy, reduced variation, and reliable metallization quality at industrial production speeds.
