While fossil resources become increasingly scarce, the demand for energy is growing – worldwide. How do we deal with this and what role can we play as a company?
Our strategy is to apply our technological and mechanical engineering expertise across all industries. In addition to a high degree of flexibility, this transfer of know-how also provides a basic security for the company and forms a future-proof platform.
In the Energy division, we combine the business areas of solar, fuel cell and battery technology, which make a significant contribution to securing the future in a sustainable manner. We work for and with well-known manufacturers from the energy industry. Cooperations with strong partners in the field of research emphasize our ambition to find the best, innovative solutions for our customers.
What we do for it
Throughout the entire production process and at all locations, we take care to handle the resources used in a responsible manner through effective resource management. Here, we are striving for a conversion to a climate-neutral production chain. In addition, we have generated electricity from solar energy at our plant in Dornstadt for over 10 years and offer charging facilities for electric cars.
We see effective resource management as our social obligation towards present and future generations. We are only at the beginning.
The AIRON printer applies metallization paste so quickly that the eye can no longer follow. The line has a throughput of 7,200 cells per hour. It is also the market leader in terms of repeat accuracy of alignment: 12.5 µm with a print quality of 6 sigma. The complete metallization line is optimized in terms of ergonomics and usability and grows with your requirements, such as new cell technologies or line extensions. All future technologies that we develop in the ASYS Group are optionally available in a package with the AIRON. Whether it is the intuitive SIMPLEX operating concept, the smart assistance system PULSE for line monitoring via Smartwatches, or an autonomous material supply using transport robots.
The key technology of the fuel cell is gaining in importance with the energy market transformation. Ways are being sought to generate energy in a renewable way and thus ensure a sustainable supply. EKRA supplies efficient overall concepts for the production of the fuel cell. As an established supplier for production automation, the ASYS Group, of which EKRA has been a member since 2005, combines expertise in material logistics, stencil printing, laser technology and customer-specific assembly solutions.
In fuel cell technology, a main distinction is made between high-temperature fuel cells (SOFC - Solid Oxide Fuel Cells) and low-temperature fuel cells (PEMFC - Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cells). In the production of both systems, the SOFC and the PEMFC, EKRA with its know-how in the process steps can make a decisive contribution to meeting the high quality requirements for such a system.
